History

1997

Richard Augustyn founded ExtensisHR in 1997 after seeing firsthand how complicated it is to grow a SMB business. His HR vendors didn’t talk to each other, and none of them took the time to understand his company. He knew employers needed more, and employees deserved better.

2008

ExtensisHR received accreditation from the Employer Services Assurance Corporation (ESAC), the gold standard for financial reliability.

2017

After meeting the strict regulations set out by the IRS and the United States government, ExtensisHR became one of the first PEOs to become a Certified Professional Employer Organization (CPEO). Shortly after, Joe Catapano was appointed as CIO.

2019

The NJBIZ readers voted ExtensisHR as one of the top 3 PEOs in New Jersey for the second year running. Later, we were named a Top 25 HR Technology Solution Provider by CIO Applications.

2020

With over 25 years of executive leadership experience in a diverse group of public and private companies, Blake Morris became ExtensisHR’s CEO. Later that year, ExtensisHR was named in Crain’s Top Places to Work in NYC.

2021

ExtensisHR launches its new Work Anywhere® mobile app, enabling today’s distributed workforce to manage their daily HR tasks securely and productively, from anywhere. Also this year, ExtensisHR debuted its PEO Premier® offering—a white glove, fully-managed outsourced concierge solution.

2022

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, ExtensisHR opened its new Raleigh-Durham sales office and received multiple company culture awards including a Great Place to Work Certification and recognition from Comparably, Top Workplaces, and NJ.com.
